ROO PANES MARCH ARTIST OF THE MONTH

"From a young age I used to sing carols in church, I learned the recorder, the trumpet and the piano and started to pick guitar up down the line. I was never good at reading music, but it seemed even then that I loved to create it. My recorder teacher described it as having “music in my soul.”... I guess “Paperweights” is about freedom, risk, vulnerability, moving on and letting go, lifting the paperweight so to speak."

His new album, "Paperweights", will be released Fri., March 4th!!

FUTURE OF FORESTRY JAN ARTIST OF THE MONTH

LOVELITE JAN ARTIST OF THE MONTH

Fronted by the married duo of Andrew and Jen Polfer, the band embodies an otherworldly sense of reverence in textures that recall the heyday of ‘80s/90s techno-pop. Pawn shop synthesizers, worn drums, and programmed beats are wrapped in layers of reverb with two voices that paint an image of God’s creativity and grace. Andrew’s earnest vocal manner contrasts with Jen’s dreamier bearing creating a unique vocal blend. The band’s lyrics emphasize spiritual gratitude in language that mixes pop hooks with the stateliness of traditional hymnody.

STRAHAN SEPTEMBER ARTIST OF THE MONTH

"Three chords and the truth."

Strahan seemed always destined to seek the truth. His songs speak of that moment where “poetry kissed reality”, his modern Psalms wrestle with that same world that David did, the world that struggles to reconcile the face of heaven in this constant economic, political and spiritual upheaval. Like the old psalmist, he reaches to nature to find the face of the divine, wrestling with truth as insistently as the tide claiming the shore. Like the old folk man, he stares through a dim glass and sees a broken world caught in that age old tension. Hallelujahs. Laments. Death. Life. All is beauty.  And that old familiar catch-cry. Chords and truth. These old worn songs that carry hints of the divine.

V.ROSE AUGUST ARTIST OF THE MONTH

Not a typical artist for our feature page but she has a way of making catchy songs that still speak true to her convictions.  Sacramento, CA, native V.Rose began her singing career at age 15 as part of a vocal group.  When the group parted ways, V. set out to create her own brand of pop and electronic dance music.  Backed by her producer/dj SPEC, she came up through the Christian hip-hop scene as a feature vocalist on multiple Flame tracks and released two albums to critical acclaim. "In Spite of All", a new track from V.Rose, was release on June 23rd.

STEVE SCHALLERT AUGUST ARTIST OF THE MONTH

"As I have traveled this world I have found myself consistently turning to music, once again, as a primary tool to try to make sense of it all. "Making sense" is something I think we all tend to try and do, which is why I believe worship is such an instrumental part of the life of faith. As I've journeyed I have personally found a tremendous solace in the joint histories of African American spirituals (particularly the sorrow songs), folk music, various streams of protest music, as well as anglo/catholic spirituality and liturgy. The intersection of those wildly contrasting traditions seemed far and wide to me for years until one day I realized something... WORSHIP is PROTEST "

EIKON JULY ARTIST OF THE MONTH

Eikon is the London based electro-gospel music duo of Dave Hendra and Dave Pilcher.  Pilcher, previously a music graduate, and Hendra an arts graduate, began the project with the aim of creating music to enable other electro-enthusiasts to worship and engage with God. Furthermore, the focus was also to create music that would not only appeal to other Christians, but also a secular audience. Eikon’s sound is a mash-up of modern electronica, house music and chilled-out ambient. The result is passionate and melancholic worship...

SONGS OF WATER JULY ARTIST OF THE MONTH

Much like the earthly element from which they draw their name, the music of Songs of Water ebbs and flows, pulsing with life, beauty and energy. Built on a solid foundation of sophisticated, instrumental prowess, the band paints with an expansive sonic palette ranging from the traditional guitar / drums / bass format to a full classical wind and string section and an array of ethnic instruments. Owing to deft proficiency and a delicate hand with which the band wields these various sonic brushes, the record stands as a cohesive whole, despite its multi-faceted instrumentation.Lyrically teeming with imaginative exploration and existential overtures, Stars and Dust reflects the tensions of contrasting themes and unresolved human experiences: beauty and war, death and eternity, friendship and loneliness.

They just released thier latest and greatest album. A must listen!

“My heart’s cry is that people feel empowered as a body of Christ. It’s just heavy on my heart for all of us to rise up in unity and recognize the goodness of God. THE DUST OF MEN FEBRUARY ARTIST OF THE MONTH

The Dust of Men has saturated their debut album, What the Morning Shows, with feeling, making it nearly impossible to not be rattled with emotion from their music. They compose what they refer to as “testimony music,” and it’s exactly what you imagined it would be throughout the entire album experience. Think back to the time of back woods Southern tent revivals, and welcome The Dust of Men, the modern-day version. The spirit in their music is sincerely passionate it becomes contagious. HANS KRAENZLIN JANUARY ARTIST OF THE MONTH

"Can one truly converse with the Creator? Or do our songs reach His ears? Can songs be sung that create, change and move the world in which we live? Through lyrics, rhythms and melodies the psalmist follows the whisper that is caught in the wind; hoping to hear the voice that called him onto the path. They exchange the breath of life and the singer believes that the breath that is loaned him for that moment will change the world as it is given back in song. This is why I sing."

What I aim to achieve is for people be affected by my music - in a great way, a way that will make them think about where they’re at. Something that everyone can relate to.

If you had to force something out of me, I’d tell you that I play Folk music. Folk music with an Electronic back bone.

Take Yours, I'll Take Mine

Same Heart, Same Mind

JUDAH LEE  NOVEMBER ARTIST OF THE MONTH

Anyone else tired of people claiming negativity over our generation?

I am sick of it… If you are confused about who YOU are let this encourage you today.

YOU are chosen. YOU are loved. YOU are beloved. YOU are HIS favorite. YOU are valued. Just one glance of YOUR eyes ravishes HIS heart. YOU are righteous in the midst of immorality. YOU are set apart. YOU are the salt and light of the earth. YOU carry the fragrance of GOD. YOU are the pure in a perverse generation. YOU are the voice crying out in the wilderness. YOU are the reward of HIS’ suffering. YOU ARE HIS.

YOU scream God’s glory. YOU are the window to heaven. YOU are makers of peace. YOU break the chains of the enemy. YOU release hope to the hopeless. YOU are a giver of mercy. YOU look for love when others look for stones. YOU are filled with faith. When YOU walk into the room it has to light up. YOU are filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. YOU are a powerful nation. YOU are creative. YOU are favored. YOU are hard-working. YOU ARE HIS.

YOU are the home to the orphan. YOU are the money to the homeless man on the corner of the street. YOU are the visitor to the prisoner. YOU are the smiling face to the suicidal stranger. YOU are the shoulder for a friend to cry on. YOU are quick to listen. YOU are slow to get angry. YOU are daughter. YOU are son. YOU are servant. YOU are the the representation of GOD on the earth. YOU ARE HIS.

Nothing and no one can stop you. YOU ARE because HE IS. GO!
